I have spoken to AA and this is the procedure for using it. You find a flight online and reserve it.  This gives you a reservation number.  You then phone their reservations line on 0207-365-0777 07:00 - 19:00 Mon-Fri  08:30 - 17:00 Sat-Sun. You quote the reference and the voucher number.  Pay the balance and send the voucher off recorded delivery to them to validate.  With the voucher I send a covering letter transferring it to you and a photocopy of my signature from my passport (other details blanked out).  AA then book the tickets with the discount of $300.  They dont even charge the normal telephone reservation fee as it was booked online initially.
